Good grip for everyone: Mantle Liquid Chalk without rosin
Liquid chalk is becoming increasingly popular: it’s easy to apply, provides long-lasting grip, and its alcohol content has a disinfecting effect on open skin. What many don’t know: most liquid chalk products contain rosin – a sticky and aggressive tree resin.
Rosin resin: invisible ‘Polish-maker’
Rosin may improve grip, but it seals the holds you use — both indoors and outdoors. The result: slippery, over-chalked routes on rock and in gyms, increased cleaning effort for operators, and less fun for everyone. In many other sports, the use of rosin is completely or partially banned — for example, in handball. In climbing, the issue is still relatively unknown.
At Mantle, we are convinced: It’s possible without rosin. That’s why we have improved our traditional liquid chalk, which gives you the best grip even with a thin application.
Protection for holds & the environment
In the production of our new Liquid Chalk, we deliberately avoid the use of rosin, which is known for its aggressive effect on various materials and substances – so that the rock and hall remain clean.

How to use Mantle Liquid Chalk correctly
For application, you only need an extremely thin layer of Mantle Liquid Chalk. This is ideal for climbing because anything between your skin and the hold can reduce your grip.
Compared to chalk in powder form, Liquid Chalk sticks to the skin for longer, which is why it is particularly suitable for long routes, challenging climbing routes and competitions – long drying times are no problem, as our Liquid Chalk dries in seconds.
As a general rule: The liquid chalk should not cover the entire skin and should be applied thinly – it is better to rechalk more frequently. By the way: Mantle Liquid Chalk is of course not only suitable for climbing and bouldering, but also for other sports where a good grip is important.
Clinically dermatologically tested
With the Mantle Climbing Liquid Chalk Colophonium Free, you get a liquid magnesium carbonate that dries your hands in a flash and is gentle on the rock and the holds in the gym at the same time.
Our Liquid Chalk has been tested for skin compatibility by means of an epicutaneous test on test persons with sensitive skin under specialist dermatological control and in accordance with international guidelines.
No relevant skin reactions occurred in the test area after a single application of the product. Therefore, the product was rated as “very well tolerated” from a clinical dermatological perspective and can be declared as “dermatologically tested.”
