What do you usually do in your spare time?
When I amnot climbing or working I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I like to enjoy a delicious cappuccino or cook something tasty and I love game nights and mystery dinners,. When the weather is nice though, I often go hiking or climbing in the mountains. I also like to try out new things and currently I practice different handstand variations quite regularly. Apart from that, I am always open to travel adventures all over the world: with and without climbing equipment in my luggage!Give us a fun fact about you or a remarkable experience in your climbing career.
A few years ago on a usual friday morning I was on my way to school and was chatting with my coach. He told me to come to Frankfort because there was a fun comp taking place. I go: "Yeah, you are being funny, who should I possibly get from Munich to Frankfort now and where should I spend the night,..?" He continued trying to convince me while I was checking train connections and asked my friend if I could sneak into her hotel room. I also had my climbing stuff with me since I had planned to go training after school and what else but a tooth brush do you need for one night? So I called my mum and she thought I had gone completely crazy but gave me permission to go. Well, spontanity, initiative and being a little crazy paid off. With the win and a price in my school bag plus a story to tell and a proud coach I went back home. What are your long term and/or short term goals?
At the moment, I'm mainly into "pleasure climbing" (long, flashable but beautiful tours)! Trad climbing has also found a place in my climbing heart. I have also noticed that this balanced and more varied training (mix of bouldering, climbing and handstands) is very good for my body health-wise. One of my goals is to be able to pass on my experiences to friends or the next generation. I make this goal come true as a coach of the Boulderwelt athlete team and as a route setter. Moreover, I have been able to infect some "non-climbing friends" with enthusiasm for the sport, so that we now go bouldering together once a week. Overall, however, joy, enjoyment and collecting and passing on experiences are currently more important than ticking off certain difficulties, achieving competition successes or climbing special dream lines.
