„ Ever since I ventured onto a climbing wall for the first time at the age of five, this sport has captivated me like no other! The constant challenge that results from technique, strength and concentration makes this sport incredibly exciting and inspiring in every discipline. At the age of 15, I discovered my passion for speed climbing, which was becoming increasingly important at the time. The speed and perfection of this discipline inspired me from the very beginning and so I specialized completely in speed at the end of 2020. Since 2021, I have also been competing regularly at international speed competitions and have been part of the DAV national squad since 2022. “

Questions to Dorian

What do you usually do in your spare time?

In addition to training and studying computer science, I enjoy working with everything to do with IT! Among other things, I like to tinker with apps, websites and electronics. Some of my projects are for example “blueROCK”, the “Speedclimbing Stopwatch” and speedclimbing.org .

Give us a fun fact about you or a remarkable experience in your climbing career.

My first climbing competition was a Kidscup in Stuttgart on 25.7.2009. Since then I've climbed in over 100 competitions, 35 of them at speed!

What are your long term and/or short term goals?

In the long term, the most important thing for me, apart from all the competitions, is to keep my enthusiasm for climbing and to keep improving! In the short term, I'm doing everything I can to achieve good competition results so that I can qualify to take part in World Cups again next season.
