What is a crash pad?

A crash pad is a foldable bouldering mat placed under the climbing area when bouldering on rock. It is designed to cushion the impact of a fall and help cover hard or uneven ground.

Our crash pads can be folded up and easily carried to the bouldering area. Depending on the boulder, several pads can be combined and positioned to cover the potential fall zone as effectively as possible.

Important: A crash pad is no substitute for careful spotting and does not make falls risk-free – it is a key component of safety when bouldering outdoors.

Crashpad 2 Folder – compact for approaches and boulder spots

The double-folding design allows the pad to be folded down to approximately 60 × 90 × 26 cm. Metal clips secure the closure straps during transport.

Multiple MANTLE crash pads can be connected using hook-and-loop fasteners to adapt the landing area to larger boulders.

A crash pad reduces the risk of injury, but does not replace careful spotting or the proper placement and assessment of the landing area.

Since I discovered Mantle Chalk for myself, no other chalk has been able to win me over. The grip is simply great. Just like the brushes, which are now an essential part of my chalk bag.
