Climbing gear by climbers for climbers
Since 2007, Mantle has stood for functional, field-tested climbing and bouldering products.
Behind the brand is a team of passionate climbers, product developers, and people who not only understand the sport but live it themselves. We spend our time in bouldering gyms, on climbing walls, and on rock – exactly where our products are later used.
Our goal is to develop climbing equipment that delivers in everyday use: functional, durable, well-thought-out, and manufactured as responsibly as possible.
Mantle was founded in the Rosenheim area and has been in the hands of passionate climbers ever since.
Today, our team is based in Sauerlach near Munich. From there, we work together to develop, test, and improve products for the climbing and bouldering scene.
Our proximity to Munich, the surrounding climbing and bouldering gyms, and the Alps allows us to interact directly with gym climbers, competitive athletes, and rock climbers. This keeps us close to the sport and the people who use our products.
We do not see ourselves as an anonymous brand, but as part of the climbing community. Personal interaction, honest feedback, and long-standing relationships with athletes, gyms, retailers, and climbers are an important part of our work.
Our athletes are an important part of Mantle.
They represent our brand at competitions, in training, and on the rock. At the same time, they actively contribute their experience to the development and improvement of our products.
Our team includes successful competitive climbers, German champions, up-and-coming talents, and experienced rock climbers. Their different athletic focuses provide us with valuable feedback from various areas of climbing and bouldering.
It is not just about athletic success. For us, personality, passion, experience, and the willingness to evaluate products honestly and critically are equally important.
We are proud to support these athletes on their journey and to continue developing Mantle together with them.
New Mantle products are not developed exclusively at a desk.
Ideas are developed together with climbers and athletes and then tested under real-world conditions. This includes intensive training sessions in climbing and bouldering gyms, competitions, and use on rock.
Our athletes test, among other things:
Only when a product convinces us and our testers does it become part of the Mantle range.
This close connection between development and application helps us create products that meet the actual demands of climbers and boulderers.
Designed for gyms, competitions and rock
Depending on the area of use, climbers have different requirements for their equipment.
A product for competition must be reliable, easy to access, and functional. For daily indoor training, comfort and durability are paramount. When climbing outdoors, transport, weather conditions, and a responsible approach to nature also play an important role.
These different perspectives inform our product development.
Our range is therefore aimed at beginners and recreational climbers as well as ambitious climbers, coaches, and competitive athletes.
Our connection to nature shapes our work and our product decisions.
We want to make our range as local, resource-efficient and responsible as possible, step by step. In doing so, we examine materials, production methods, packaging and the lifespan of our products.
An important milestone was our range of Mantle wooden brushes made in Germany from FSC-certified wood.
For us, however, sustainability does not mean highlighting a single product. It is an ongoing process in which we regularly question and improve our products and processes.
Our goal is to develop durable products that are used effectively and accompany climbers for as long as possible.
