For a long time everything was wet, for a long time it was simply too cold… Winter in Franconia was not really amazing this year. Actually, that applies to the whole period until early April.
But now! Conditions in the Franconian Jura have rarely been as good as they are at the moment. Especially the afternoon and evening offer top conditions to tackle its projects.
A boulder I still wanted to try before getting back on the rope was "Northstar" (Fb 8a+), a long roof boulder with many moves. Thanks to a super beta and the cool temperatures, the thing went smoothly after just a few attempts on the first evening. That meant, next time back on the rope!
After a long season full of bouldering, I had to find something short. I had wanted to look at something at Eldorado for a long time and with "Stonelove" I had found a project for a long time that motivated me.
In the third session we went to the nearby Grüne Hölle before that. With a quick onsight of "Vögeln verboten" (7c+) the afternoon started well. Then there was still some time until Eldorado and I set about looking at the route "Bastard" (8a+/8b). Since all the moves worked on the first try, I decided to try it seriously. However, it is now clear to me how the name of the line came about. It really is a little b*****d to hit the hole. But after a few attempts I was also at the top of this route.
Already slightly tired but still highly motivated, it was now time for "Stonelove" (8b+). After a good first attempt I was already happy about this one and just wanted to climb in one last time for training. Well… it was once again the classic last go of the day, which made this day perfect.
